Guide
How to run a timed drill
Print the sheet, start the timer on this page, and stop when it rings or the sheet is done. Write the time in the box, mark with the answer key, and record the score. Doing the same kind of drill every few days shows progress clearly.
Speed should come after accuracy. If a child is making many mistakes, go back to untimed practice on a single table or a smaller number range first.
Choosing the length
A full page of 100 facts in five minutes is a common target for multiplication facts to 12. Younger children usually start with 30 to 50 facts and one to three minutes. The timer choices are 1, 2, 3 and 5 minutes.
